Dare to be Different...

As most of you know, docks come and go some are good but maybe their support is very limited and eventually get abandoned, others stick around but never become very popular and others become very popular but implementation of new features stop without notice. So I want to present to you some NEW FREE alternatives that I consider great, original and very promising....

The first one is called Magic Formation  #mce_temp_url# and it work great for what it does, all you need to do is draw a circle with your mouse and it pops up and it animates as you move the mouse over the icons and you can see it in action here>>  #mce_temp_url#

The second is called Slider Dock  #mce_temp_url# although it's fairly new It has some great potential so I will be paying close attention to its development.  Very simple to customize, it spins when using the mouse wheel and it looks great using icons that have a modded reflection on them as you can see on my screenshot below. I have also used my Obj Dock tiles #mce_temp_url#  and it works great as icon backgrounds.

Last but not least is a mac clone dock called X Windows dock or XWD  #mce_temp_url#  This is a dock made by the community for the community  and some of its best features are: built in reflections, configurable spacing between icon and bottom of dock, configurable opacity and blur of reflections , built in stacks, tool included to import and convert other dock skins and countless others...

I hope you found this article helpful and hope it gives you new possibilities to your customizing needs.

I can see the Slider Dock and it looks pretty friggin kewl Pete.

Unfortunately examples 1 and 3 are gone, but that Magic Formation Dock is sick!

And XWindows with four modes of Stacks sounds like that's worth the price of admission alone.

Thanks for the 4-11 dude, I'm gone to check 'em out!
